Here are just some of our Frenchy girls  and proud mums.

We deliberately breed to maintain our lines and we retain girls from each litter while adopting very carefully chosen 'outside' boys to introduce new blood lines.

These photos are arranged by family line/grouping:-

These photos have to be small to ensure the page loads quickly and doesn't incur too much bandwidth.  Larger photographs are included in our collection of online photo albums.

PENELOPE: a badly neglected rescue bunny who has enjoyed a new lease of life and started our new line of blue/blue butterfly Frenchies!

Read her full story HERE

August 2004:  All of our Frenchy girls are from Penelope's line which is quite remarkable since Penelope was a rescue bunny who'd been badly neglected and we only brought her home so that she could spend her last few days with love and have, at least, some dignity.

However, Penelope surprised us all!

On the day she was collected from the pet carrier her former owners had considered to be a suitable, we was starving, emaciated, wasted-away, dehydrated, had a broken paw, eye infections, bites, was too weak to stand up and this furry bag of bones seemed just thankful to be gently held.  Over the following weeks, our Penelope had intensive nursing, a careful diet, physiotherapy to help her regain the use of her wasted leg muscles and each day she improved beyond all possible expectations.   Within just a few months, she was unrecognisable as she hopped around the garden with her silky coat, looking plump and healthy.

Later she (with Siegfried) became proud mum to Claudia and Claudine and then her line continued:-

  • Claudia became mum to Madam Butterfly, Winifred, Morag and Dilly.  She's also proud grandmother to Bonnie and Lady Butterfly

  • Madam Butterfly is mother to Lady Butterfly.

  • Winifred is mother to Wilma - and Wilma is Bonnie's mother.

  • Claudine is the mother of Claudette

Sadly Penelope died in autumn 2003 but she was a very special bunny who will never be forgotten.

- whoever would have thought that rescuing Penelope would bring such wonderful bunny-descendents.....

January 2004: Madam Butterfly is now a proud mother of 8 beautiful, healthy, happy babies.

Above:  Claudia with her daughter DILLY - whom we very nearly lost to a nasty attack of gastric stasis in January 2004.  Right: Dilly is photographed in her 'hospital' sitting on her heat pad in the early days of her recovery.  * In October 2004, dilly became proud mum to a litter of 6, including a fawn girl whom we're retaining.

above: March 2004 - Dilly is now fully-recovered and has a new friend, Wilma, her half-sister.

LEGACY - who developed ketosis following the birth of her litter.  These were successfully hand-reared and we retained two:-.

LEGACY'S DAUGHTER (hand-reared from 1 week).  Her mother was Legacy, half-sister of Venus and niece of Nicolette.

LEGACY'S DAUGHTER: with her family of 8 black miniature - one of our best-ever litters.  Very sadly, shortly after her above litter weaned, we lost Legacy's Daughter to myxomatosis, despite her being vaccinated.

PHOEBE: solid blue daughter of Venus

Phoebe - now mum to 6 miniatures (3 blue girls and 3 blue boys)

PETRONELLA: our big, blue lady who used to roll on her back for tummy-rubs.  Sadly she died in autumn 2001 before we were able to continue her line.
